Women in Leadership
Dear Tenth Family, Patrick has begun a 3-month sabbatical and will return in July. During this time, he plans on reading, writing, resting, and investing in his family and his garden. Over the next few months I will be the one sending you updates! My name is Hannah and I work at Tenth as a ministry assistant for both Global and Local initiatives. I am excited to share encouraging stories while wrestling together over challenging ones. In our April edition of Refugee news, we are highlighting women, and women in leadership. You will encounter reflections of a woman from Afghanistan, learn about initiatives protecting women in Cambodia, and meet a new staff member. As you read this month's newsletter, I encourage you to hear, reflect, and consider ways you can stand with women from various life experiences. With God, for others, Hannah |
International Women's Day
Recently, we recognized International Women's Day as a global day of celebrating the social, economic, cultural, and political achievements of women. While we celebrate, let us also remember and raise up other women who do not have equal opportunity. For more infomation visit:

5 Questions AnsweredFrom an Afghan woman now living in Canada As part of learning about women’s achievements, Patrick interviewed Mursal, a woman from Afghanistan who arrived in Canada seeking asylum. She arrived 1 year ago just as our borders were closing because of COVID-19. In Afghanistan, minimal opportunites are given for women to make decisions and share their ideas. Fortunately, Mursal was raised in a family that encouraged her education, and where her mom champions for human rights despite the danger.
