Newsbite
A hope-full new year to you! This is simply a newsbite informing you of a few things that will be coming down the track. 3 New Ways: Many have been asking over the past few weeks "how can I get involved with refugee ministry?", so we decided to have a discussion about it. Called, 3 New Ways, it will be on zoom Friday, January 15 from 7:30-8:30pm. Register here. New Role: We just wanted to plant a seed that we will be creating a new part-time role together with Journey Home Community called Refugee Settlement Worker. The job will be posted in the next few days, but feel free to email Patrick now if you are interested. Rhythms Thought: Helping refugees use their assets in overcoming the barriers to realizing their aspirations. This is the summary of what Journey Home Community does with refugees and since Journey Home has been coaching and empowering Tenth, this also reflects Tenth's vision as well. During Rhythms this week, James Grunau, the Executive Director of Journey Home Community inspired us to: 1. Do no wrong 2. Treat strangers as our own 3. Love strangers as ourselves. When a stranger resides with you in your land, you shall not do him wrong. The stranger who resides with you shall be to you as the native among you, and you shall love him as yourself, for you were aliens in the land of Egypt; I am the Lord your God. Leviticus 19:33-34 With God, for others, Patrick, Mim, Hannah, and the Refugee Team! PS More stories or check out other ways to get involved. For more infomation visit:
