Jon Ng
Oasis Café Chaplain
Jonathan is the Pastoral Support for the Oasis Program, providing a listening ear and empathetic support for its guests, volunteers, and employees. Jonathan is passionate about seeing shalom lived out in all spheres of life, particularly in a modern urban context like Vancouver.
Jonathan has a diverse musical background ranging from worship leading, choral singing, and piano performance to ethnomusicological observations about indie rock concerts. Most recently, he holds a Master of Christian Studies in Interdisciplinary Studies from Regent College, with a particular focus on social justice and creation care. Since 2009, he has partnered with organizations based in the Downtown Eastside such as Servants Vancouver, Jacob’s Well, and Strathcona Vineyard to seek the peace of the neighbourhood and to journey with its neighbours.
In his downtime, Jonathan enjoys cooking large amounts of food, reading about sports analytics, and watching movies with his wife Harmony. Together they have 3 young rambunctious boys, making for a lively and boisterous household.
