The Temporary Winter Shelter is open daily from 10:30pm - 6:30am.

You can help by donating financially or by giving some practical items. See the "Give" section below for details!

As followers of Christ, we believe God’s love knows no bounds. God came down in human form and moved into the neighborhood in the person of Jesus (John 1). He healed the sick, nourished the hungry, and dismantled systems of injustice.

Jesus said, “For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me…  Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.’ (Matthew 25:35-36;40)

As a community dedicated to following the way, truth, and life of Jesus, we are committed to reflecting such a life through the practice of generous hospitality towards all.

We are honoured to partner with our neighbours at Lookout Housing and Health Society as we open our doors to serve as a site for BC Housing’s Temporary Winter Shelter from November 13, 2023 and April 15, 2024. With almost 50 years of experience in providing emergency shelter services and long-term housing solutions, Lookout will lend their expertise to the Shelter at Tenth.   Temporary shelters are opened annually through a partnership with the City of Vancouver and BC Housing to provide additional shelter capacity to keep those experiencing homelessness safe and warm during the winter months.

Join us here at Tenth as we open our doors to our neighbours and provide a space of rest to people who are experiencing homelessness.
