  1. Thanks be to God for the generosity of our Tenth community!  This month we met our goal of raising $40,000 for the settlement expenses for the refugees we're walking alongside.  In fact, we exceeded our goal by more than $28,000!  These extra funds will be used to help pay for a much-needed Refugee Support Program Manager.  The role will be posted on the Tenth careers page shortly.  We are still raising funds for the complete salary, so you welcome to continue praying and trusting God for provision.  
  2. Newcomers Camp at Pioneer Pacific Camp on Thetis Island.  This week 120 newcomers and Tenth volunteers will be experiencing a new level of community as they try new activities, learn in small groups and by serving one another, and build friendships that will last.  
  3. Summer events.  If you are interested in participating in summer events, contact Jonathan, our Summer Jobs Intern for more information at refugeesupport@tenth.ca. 
  4. Meanwhile Spaces.  Our Coquitlam settlement house is full with a family of 7 living upstairs and 4 single men living downstairs.  A Meanwhile Space is an initiative that utilizes empty apartments and houses waiting for redevelopment, providing refugees with transitional housing.
