Vancouver Refugee Focused Justice Journey

As a church, Tenth aims to welcome people from all different types of backgrounds, including refugees.  We have created a Justice Journey that supports our Refugee Response in Vancouver.

Purpose:  Equip and empower Tenth people in understanding, serving and receiving refugees in our city.

Partners:  Tenth Refugee Response, Journey Home and one other strategic partner.

Date:  Friday March 17th at 3pm to Sunday March 19th at 7pm.

Elements:

  • Sharing meals and experience with families that have fled their homes and are now living in Vancouver.
  • Practicing English with refugees.
  • Discovering ways to be more proactive with refugees in Vancouver.
  • Being part of a team that uses its skills to advance the vision of Refugee Response at Tenth (may include storytelling, social media, carpentry, agriculture, enterprise development).

Vancouver Justice Journey Timeline:

March 11        Training Day 1 (8:30am to 4:30pm)

The Lord defends the cause of the fatherless and the widow, and loves the foreigner residing among you, giving them food and clothing. And you are to love those who are foreigners, for you yourselves were foreigners in Egypt. [Deuteronomy 10:18-19]
