Last Christmas, at Tenth Church, we had a fun and successful campaign called JustCrates.  Here is a link for JustCrates.  

The feedback I received personally was very encouraging from the folks that purchased as JustCrates. This was supported by the feedback forms where 100% of the buyers would purchase a JustCrate again, mostly because they believed in the stories and the cause. Here is one comment. Thank you. These crates are amazing and was a highlight for our family. We sincerely hope we have the opportunity to buy them again.

The volunteers also enjoyed making the crates with 100% saying they met new friends and would like to volunteer again.  Here is a comment. So thankful to the tenth church and the team for organising such a meaningful project. I am very happy I volunteered with you guys, I learned a lot and met amazing people. 

We learned a lot last year, and we really looking forward to building on our experience for this year. 

JustBags: 

  • This year Ana Velasquez, will not only manage the workshops but also manage the project with support from her husband Roger. 
  • Instead of building crates, we will be creating beautiful canvas bags with leather handles and features, and they appropriately will be called JustBags. 
  • We want to add even more value to the bags, so we will make our own candles and create a leather bracelet.

JustBags is a Christmas bag filled with ethically sourced,  carefully curated, and lovingly created handmade / fair trade products made and assembled with our refugee community. JustBags are available to purchase online and for pick up at Tenth Church, Mount Pleasant site on December 11 at our Tea Lounge, where you will have a chance to meet some of our friends who created the crates - over tea and snacks. The revenue from this project supports the work Tenth does locally and globally with refugees.
