With mixed emotions, we bid farewell to Hillary Ko, Coordinator of Kits Cares Café. After 2.5 years of service, Hillary will be moving to Vancouver Island in order to begin her practicum as a UBC dietetics student. We are immensely grateful for all the contributions that Hillary has made during her time with Kits Cares Café. We’ve learned so much, and we'll miss her gentle and calming spirit, her ability to take an idea and put it into action while maximizing community involvement, her faithfulness to her work, and her love of food and people. We're excited for her next steps as she seeks to serve the common good as a dietitian at Nanaimo General Hospital.

At the same time, we are so delighted to warmly welcome Aaron Peat into leadership at Kits Cares Café! Aaron arrives with a background in mental health, community development, and theology. He brings nearly a decade of experience serving churches and the non-profit sector, all centred around bringing people together to find hope and healing. He recently graduated from Regent College with an MDiv and also serves the most vulnerable people in our city at First United in Vancouver’s Downtown Eastside as a shift supervisor for the year-round low-barrier shelter. Aaron is a warm, enthusiastic person, has the spirit of a learner, and deeply cares about relationships and community building. Please join us in welcoming Aaron!

We are grateful for your prayers during this season of transition at Kits Cares Café!
