Coming to you on a Wednesday with information from Pastor Aisling regarding this week's Parent Connect!

It’s been too long since our last CREO Parent Connect! This Friday, January 12th, 7pm, we’ll meet in the staff office lounge again and you can expect an update from Pastor Ais and Pastor Graeme regarding CREO themes, curriculum, and spiritual formation plans!

If you have questions (or hopes for this year) we would love to have you attend! Your input is important to us & God’s up to good things at Tenth.

We’ll also get time to snack, share, and pray together! Don’t miss it.

One more thing, if any of you would like to pitch in and help bring some munchies for the students (nut free) to drop off to Earlene & Christina that would be awesome. Feel free to [contact] Pastor Ais with a quick: “Yes, I can bring popcorn! Or chips to share!” This is an easy way to link arms with our CREO team. Let us know if we can count on you.

This Friday, our older and younger students will split for a more personal & focused experience discussing what it means to be "enough". The struggle to be enough is real for teenagers. They’re in a phase where trying to keep up or fit in with those around them is crucial. That means they’re prone to listening to the voices of their friends, teammates, coaches, parents, classmates, and more to gauge their worth and value. While we know that, even if they’re surrounded by a ton of positive influences, this path will never actually lead them to feel like enough. There will always be a new standard, a new trend, a new something to chase in an effort to feel like enough. That’s why it’s important to help our students put what God says is true about them in their minds. That’s the only way they’ll stop the broken record that tells them they’re not enough. It’s the only way they’ll discover their worth and value is enough because of God!

Pastors' Earlene and Sam will be leading us, I'm looking forward to hearing them share!

CREO is not running on February 2nd for our Friday team to attend the Youth Worker Community Conference in Burnaby! This conference is for volunteers and staff to gather and sharpen their skills, experience community amongst like-minded leaders, and be encouraged that the work of investing in the next generation is a worthwhile endeavour.

If you have a teenager in CREO, you know the profound impact our team can have in the life of a teenager and how that influence spreads to the overall health of the family. We're looking to give parents the opportunity to support our team financially to attend the conference. I'm looking forward to sharing more details when they're available!

CREO is all about creating spaces for students to discover Christ in belonging, identity, and purpose. Follow @creoyouth on Instagram or visit tenth.ca/creo for updates.
