On September 23, 2023, 27 people from Tenth Church walked, biked, and ran in support of our friends at Inner Hope Youth Ministries. Over $17,000 was raised throughout the community! Thank you, Tenth Church, for your generosity! This all ages fundraising event raised money to support youth and families in East Vancouver impacted by inter-generational trauma. Inner Hope shares:

The journey towards breaking cycles of abuse, addiction and poverty is extremely challenging. The difficulties youth can face include: the deaths of close family members, parents struggling with addiction to drugs or alcohol and families split apart. And yet, Inner Hope’s multi-generational, close-knit community has become a place of belonging – including for Indigenous families who make up 85% of those we journey with.

Inner Hope Cultural Mentor, John Johnstone, shares about the importance of relationship in supporting the community. Through a holistic approach of discipleship, life skills, housing and mentoring, Inner Hope is providing a place of belonging, a place of love, and a place of growth for inner-city youth and their families that is deeply rooted in relationships.
