Dennis and Anne host our welcome table as well as a monthly group that prays specifically for the persecuted church and Christians around the world. The kind couple also volunteers at the Emergency Weather Shelter and as premarital mentors. Listen to why they do what they do.

Andrew: What do you enjoy most about serving?

Dennis and Anne: Connecting, building relationships and being in community with others.

Andrew: Where have you seen God work as you serve?

Dennis and Anne: We have seen God work in the lives of couples as they prepare and build a strong foundation for their marriage. We have seen God's encouragement and provision when we were discouraged and ready to give up, after hosting our prayer group for a couple of years with just one faithful person attending. Then, on the last night before the summer break, when we thought we would not start up again, 17 people came! God is good!

Andrew: How have you grown through serving?

Dennis and Anne: From serving, we have more understanding and compassion for others and feel that serving has helped us grow spiritually.

When our lives are joined to Jesus, we find that we also are enlisted in His mission to share God’s love with those around us.  One of the best ways of discovering your gifts and finding community is by serving.  Could God be inviting you to take that step?  Check out the opportunities to volunteer on our Volunteer Directory.

Not sure where you can help? Let us know about your interest. Or, I’d love to chat with you about finding a place for you to serve.

Don’t just go to church.  Be the church.
