Last Sunday, Ken mentioned during his sermon how Neighbourcare, a new ministry at Tenth, started. NeighbourCare is a group of people ready to offer practical help to our neighbours during COVID-19, acting as the hands and feet of Jesus. NeighbourCare will match people who could use a hand with volunteers able to assist them.

Early on during COVID, lineups in grocery stores quadrupled in size, and household essentials like rice, soap and disinfectants were flying off the shelves. Many support services and community meals also had to temporarily close due to restrictions. People in our Tenth community have stepped up in love to give of their time and resources, helping others in our community in various ways.

During a phone call with one of our pastors, a long-time member of our community shared that she had just a day or two left worth of food in her homeShe was unable to go to the grocery store because of mobility issues and the new challenges of a trip to the grocery store made it difficult to get food. Two volunteers from our congregation were able to pick up groceries on her behalf and delivered them to the entrance of her home. Another time, a volunteer delivered groceries to someone and ended up sharing a transformative moment of conversation and prayer with them.

Would you welcome some assistance during this time? You or someone you know might welcome a hand from a volunteer if you are:

· Self-isolating
· Immunocompromised
· Have limited mobility or other challenges
· Serving on the frontlines of healthcare
· Recently travelled on an airplane and are in quarantine for 14 days

If you are looking for assistance or wish to volunteer, please contact your site pastor to get connected to NeighbourCare.
