Extreme Weather Response Shelter

We are honoured to partner with The Lookout Housing and Health Society as we open our doors to serve as a site for BC Housing’s Extreme Weather Response (EWR) Program from November 1, 2019 to March 31, 2020. Located in Mt. Pleasant, Tenth is a prime location for emergency shelter due to its proximity to public transit and community services such as the Vancouver Public Library and the Mt. Pleasant Community Centre.

Together with a friend, or with your Life Group, help to prepare a simple breakfast for guests who have spent the night. Volunteers sign up to be available and on-call one week at a time. Once the EWR alert is activated, on-call volunteers will be notified and will plan to volunteer the following morning.  Breakfast volunteers play an integral role in demonstrating Christ’s hospitality by ensuring our guests leave nourished and ready for the day.

Volunteer shifts begin at 6am and conclude at 8am.
