At Tenth, we are a place where people of all different backgrounds can discover Christ, a community of spiritual transformation that seeks social justice for all.

What is reconciliation?

rec·on·cil·i·a·tion

ˌrekənˌsilēˈāSH(ə)n/
noun
the restoration of friendly relations.

the action of making one view or belief compatible with another.

For many people, the history and truth revolving around First Nations/Indigenous peoples and residential schools is something that may be overwelming, shocking, and/or an area of lack of awareness and education. Thanks to the historic Truth & Reconciliation Commission (2009-2015), we are able to have our eyes opened and exposed to the tragic history and legacy of our country’s Indian Residential Schools and their ongoing effects on First Nations communities and peoples.

But what is the next step?

Dennis, our Director of Local Community Engagement writes:
I am walking (in the Walk for Reconciliation) because I want to show my commitment to the reconciliation movement. Together we are creating a vibrant inclusive Canada where all peoples achieve their full potential and shared prosperity. Reconciliation starts with you and reconciliation belongs to all of us. I hope you will join me at the Walk for Reconciliation. You can also make a difference by making a gift today to support me and reconciliation in Canada.
