On Saturday October 2, we're fundraising for Inner Hope - proud partner of Tenth Church.
Inner Hope walks alongside vulnerable youth and families in East Vancouver. We believe that together we can equip young people to live healthy lives and empower the next generation. We do this through mentoring relationships, life skills training, and the provision of stable housing.
We are located on the unceded and traditional territory of the Sḵwx̱wú7mesh (Squamish), Səl̓ílwətaʔ (Tsleil-Waututh) and xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam) Nations. Around 90% of those we serve are First Nation or Métis and many of our families continue to suffer the impacts of the residential school system. Inner Hope acknowledges the role that Canada’s religious institutions played in harming our Indigenous neighbours, and we take seriously our responsibility for healing and reforming practices within our spiritual community. We seek an active role in reconciliation by responding directly to Calls to Action from the TRC, working with entire communities including parents, grandparents and guardians and seeking community direction wherever possible.
