Are you a child of divorce? Are you close to someone who is?

You are invited to a two-hour seminar where author, Tanya Lyons, will shed light on the experience and struggle of adult children of divorce.

Divorce can be an off-limits or neglected topic in many of our families and communities, yet it’s an experience that profoundly changes all those it touches.

The same seminar will be offered twice:

Sunday, March 11 1-3pm Entrance E, Lounge

Monday, March 12 7-9pm Entrance C, Upper East Hall

Tanya studied the experience of adult children of divorce as part of her Master’s degree and wrote a novel, Come Home Laughing, to share the findings of her research. The book is a fictional narrative weaving statistics, personal stories, reflections, and Biblical content.

Tanya’s presentation will explore the current state of marriage and divorce in society and look at the experience of adults who have grown up as children of divorce. Believing that an understanding of the past is an important step to moving forward, she will draw from her book, her research, and her personal experience to explore the loss and pain experienced by children of divorce.

Those from intact families will hear of ways to talk with and support children of divorce, as community and connection are key elements in the process of healing and restoration.
