Kits Cares Celebrates 5 Years!

On Thursday, November 23, 2023, Kits Cares celebrated 5 years of God’s faithfulness in and through this ministry! The party was complete with cake, pizza, and special music from a talented local jazz ensemble!  

The identity of Kits Cares has shifted over the years. What began as a community meal gathering at Kits Neighbourhood House in 2018 pivoted to an emergency grocery hamper program during COVID in 2020. And at the beginning of 2023, Kits Cares became a low-cost community food market that welcomes an average of 80 people each week.

All the while, some things remain the same. The shared care of liaisons from our partner churches, along with many volunteers sharing food, conversation and friendship continue to be a beautiful expression of seeking the shalom of the neighbourhood. Guests are a central part of this community and many who have received help and care over the years have extended that same hospitality back to new faces in the community. Give thanks with us!
