Born in Singapore, the traditional lands of the Orang Laut people, Debbie was raised on the unceded territories of the Musqueam, Tsleil-Waututh, Squamish, and Stolo Coast Salish peoples.
A learner at heart, she has served with several non-profit organizations in the areas of discipleship and poverty alleviation in countries across the world including Tanzania, Ecuador, the Philippines, and India. Her approach is informed by previous work in public safety administration, communications, board governance, and facilitation in partnership with The Mental Health Commission of Canada.
As Director of Missional Engagement, she gets to work with a remarkable team of people who reflect the very heart of God. Their ministry of presence is marked by humility, compassion, and steadfast accompaniment alongside people who are suffering.
Debbie finds delight in creation, good food and conversation, loose-leaf tea, organic gardens, farmers' markets, bicycles, music, friends, and her young family.
