Dan Matheson

Dan is the Site Pastor for our West Side site. He provides leadership to the West Side staff team and pastoral care for those in the community.  In his role, he also organizes groups that meet together for spiritual formation and connects with people who are seeking to explore or grow in faith.

Dan grew up in the fine prairie cities of Regina and Calgary before going off to the flatlands of Indiana where he studied philosophy and biblical literature at Taylor University. He enjoys exploring new ideas and cultures and spent a few years working overseas in Vietnam and the United Arab Emirates before moving to Vancouver to pursue theological studies at Regent College.

In Vancouver, Dan met and married a wonderful woman named Caryn and together they have aimed to steer their lives toward the beauty of Christ. The Mathesons deeply delight in film, food, and music and enjoy sharing God's good hospitality—so feel free to stop by their home any time. They also have three daughters who would happily give you a high-five almost any day of the week.
