'Old Year's Night' Global Newsbite
|
Old Year's NightLooking Back to See Ahead While in Guatemala many years ago, I was asked to lead the Old Year's Night service, so I agreed. Little did I know when I accepted the invite that the service would start at 7pm and end at 12:30am - after the new year began. Fortunately, I had a team of 15 friends that helped with the worship, testimonies, and creative arts, but creating engaging and spirit-led content for more than 5 hours was a bit of a challenge. God was with us, and He helped us weave together a special evening of reflecting and giving thanks for the year, as we celebrated, ate tamales and prepared our hearts and lives for the year to come. Looking back, it has been one the most meaningful church services of my life, and many of the promises God gave me for that year came to being. In case you were wondering, Old Year's Night is what some communities around the world call New Year's Eve. On a personal level, I have started another review of the previous year including making space to prayerfully prepare for 2023. In faith, my wife and I also pray about and give a year-end donation to ministries we believe in and sense God’s invitation to partner with God in 2023. This year, we are joining Tenth’s Finish Strong campaign by giving to Tenths ministries including the General Fund (of the site I am most connected to), but also to the funds that are not supported by the General Fund including the Missions Fund, Cambodia Fund, Refugee Fund and Benevolence Fund. Should you wish to give one last donation in 2022, you can give here. If you have a minute or two, glance over the impact reports in this global newsbite. May God richly bless you as you bless others with your love and generosity. Patrick For more infomation visit:
