Global News
Dear Tenth Family, There is no doubt that Christmas 2020 will be remembered differently than other Christmases. In the absense of some of the external elements of the holiday season such as social gatherings and festive events, we may have been encouraged to turn our attention inward and remeber the deeper meaning of the Christmas story. In this last edition of Global News in 2020, I encourage you to slow down and extend gratitude for what marvelous things God has done, even in a year of distress. Read stories from Africa, a message from Cambodia, and updates from Mexico and local refugees. As we begin to think and pray for 2021, let us be mindful of living daily in God's shalom of justice, peace, and joy. With God, for others, Patrick |
Enlargening our WorldWill you consider a year-end contribution? As the end of 2020 draws near, we ask you to continue to pray for the provision of God's global work through our 50 local and global mission partners. There are 3 ways your generosity will bless and sustain Tenth's local and global mission work. 1. Cambodia Fund to support our 10 Cambodia partners including Alongsiders. 2. Missions Fund to support our 30 global workers including Steve and Jennifer Ney and 10 partners including Rancho El Camino. 3. Refugee Fund to support the dozens of families and individuals that Tenth walks with. Thank you for your continued support! The world of the generous gets larger and larger; the world of the stingy gets smaller and smaller. The one who blesses others is abundantly blessed; those who help others are helped. The Unexpected Gift of 2020Refugee reflections on the past year by Mim Wickett For all of us, 2020 will be an unforgettable year...though I think most of us would just prefer to forget the majority of it! But for the Tenth Refugee Support Ministry, 2020 was a season of flourishing. New friendships were made, housing was provided, camping experiences were had, new meeting spaces were created (including zoom), jobs were found, new partnerships were developed, conversational English was practiced – in the midst of anxiety, loss, and challenge in physical, emotional, and mental health.
