Walking Alongside LeadersDear Tenth family, Before jumping into the newsletter, I wanted to introduce myself! My name is Holly and I’ve joined the Tenth Global team as an intern for the summer. I'm super passionate about justice issues and storytelling, and I am thrilled to be able to share stories with you about what Tenth and our global partners are doing around the world. In Mexico, Cambodia, and Canada, we are fighting for justice and walking alongside leaders to bring the hope and light of Jesus. As you read this edition of Global News, you will be encouraged by updates from Ratanak, Alongsiders Europe, and Chab Dai. Young leaders are being raised up in Cambodia as the country recovers from the Khmer Rouge, and in this newsletter you’ll find an invitation to participate in a film screening and discussion about this! Through these stories and prayer requests, may you be uplifted and inspired to love your neighbours, both near and far. With God, for others, Holly |

JUST 58 - CAMBODIAWatch a short film and talk justice in just 58 minutes - Thursday, July 16, 2020 You are invited to join us for a series of film screenings this summer! Just because we can't meet in person for events doesn't mean we have to put crucial conversations about justice on hold. These events are an opportunity to meet (on zoom) with friends, family, and lifegroups to come together around justice issues. We will watch short films about Cambodia before, during, and after the time of the killing fields, and each of these films will be followed by a rich discussion. We would love for you to be a part of it. For more infomation visit:

Breaking Cycles of Human Trafficking in CambodiaRatanak's Emerald Gala Video Tenth has supported Ratanak's annual Emerald gala every year since it started. The traditional gala, which has always been so encouraging, challenging, and informative, needed to adapt to COVID-19, and so this year, the gala has been condensed into a powerful 11-minute video and email campaign. Watch the video hosted by Ratanak's Founding Director, Brian McConaghy, and learn more about how Ratanak is breaking cycles of human trafficking in Cambodia. For more infomation visit:

Joining Hands to Fight TraffickingChab Dai impact report: Finding hope through collaboration Human trafficking is an insidious and pervasive force in our world today, and partners of Tenth, including Chab Dai, are joining hands to combat this. All people are made in the image of God and are worthy of a life free of exploitation. Working for justice involves walking alongside local leaders and collaborating with community. Coming up next week there is a conference about anti-trafficking in Asia - more details can be found in this news post. For more infomation visit:

The power of discipleshipAn update from Alongsiders Europe The Alongsiders discipleship movement has been growing in Cambodia since 2003, from a faithful group of ten mentors to thousands of young Christian mentors. This year, Alongsiders has expanded its reach to support vulnerable youth and children in Europe. “Throughout history, young people have been at the forefront of every movement for change,” and this is why Alongsiders believes in the power of one on one relationships. One Can Give Without LovingBut One Cannot Love Without Giving Exodus 35:4-5 says “Moses said to all the congregation of the people of Israel, ‘This is the thing that the Lord has commanded. Take from among you a contribution to the Lord. Whoever is of a generous heart, let him bring the Lord’s contribution …’” In this time of great uncertainty for our partners in Cambodia and Mexico, and can offer our generosity to support the work that they are doing amidst the COVID-19 pandemic. Here are two ways you can help: 1. Pray - Click here to find specific requests for prayer in this season. Everything that Tenth Global does to support partners in Cambodia and Mexico, missionaries across the globe, and refugees here in Vancouver is supported by these three funds, and these funds do not receive money from the General Fund (offering) at Tenth. 100% of your donations to Funds go to local and global work, and the work of Tenth Global is made possible by you and your generosity. Thank you for your continued support! |
