From Marissa—Tenth Kids School Age

BIG IDEA:         Jesus defeated sin, so we can have a friendship with God.

Bible Basis:      Book of Genesis

Sunday Sep 11:            This week we heard about how God first created the earth and everything in it so we could be in perfect relationship with Him. When Adam and Eve first disobeyed God, sin entered the world and ruined everything God had planned.

At Home:          Spend some time with your child creating or building something out of materials you have at home. Work hard on it. Ask your child how they would feel if someone else came and knocked it down. God felt this way when sin entered and ruined everything but God didn’t give up on His people. He had a plan to fix the sin problem by sending His son Jesus. Pray together thanking God for sending His son Jesus so we can be in relationship with Him.

From Laurence—Tenth Kids Preschool (3-5 Years Old)

We will start off our September with learning about Adam and Eve and “The First Sin”. We’re learning about good and bad choices and how God helps us make the right choice. Here are some things you can do or talk about to help reinforce our lessons:

§  ASK them this question: “How do you make the right choice?” (“I ask God!”)

§  DISCUSS about how we can all make good choices with God’s help and how bad choices are when we sin.

§  PRAY with them and ask God to help them make good choices and to be more like Jesus.

From Laurence— Tenth Kids Babies and Toddlers (6 months-2 Years Old)

We want to kick off this September by letting our babies and toddlers know that: I See God’s Love at Church. We want to help our little ones to begin to associate God and Jesus with loving people and enjoyable activities. Here’s what you can do:

§  TALK about how we’re all a part of God’s big family and how the church is God’s home. We’re all welcome and we can all help make other feel welcome at church.

§  SING “He’s Got the Whole World in His Hands” to or with them to remind them that God always takes care of us.

§  PLAY with them by using blocks or Lego to build a church building.
