This week we learned about how Jesus went to Zacchaeus’ house, even though he was a tax collector that no one liked. Everyone was surprised that Jesus chose to go to this man’s house, but Jesus didn’t look down on Zacchaeus. He loved him no matter what, just like He loves us no matter what!

BIG IDEA: Jesus doesn’t look down on people, so we shouldn’t either.

Bible Basis: Luke 19:1-10

At Home

Read: Luke 19:1-10

Discuss: Why was everyone shocked that Jesus went to the house of a sinner? How did Zacchaeus show Jesus that he was sorry for his sins and wanted forgiveness? Why do you think Jesus chose Zacchaeus?

Apply: Jesus talks a lot about looking for the lost, saving the poor, and how the last shall be first. What do you think this means for you and your life? Do you look down on these people? How can you show love to sinners like Zacchaeus?

Pray: Thank God for all the gifts He has given you. Ask Him to help you to be thankful and to not look down on those that might not have as much as you do. Ask Him to help you show love to everyone, even the poor or the biggest sinners.
