A note from Ken:

As we sat on a park bench one afternoon, my mentor Leighton asked me, “What do you most want?”

“I realize this may sound clichéd, but it comes from a deep place within me,” I replied. “I want to live faithfully.” By faithful I mean “showing up for my life”– using my gifts and resources to honour God and serve others.

Part of faithfulness for me means being a wise and generous steward of my financial resources.

As we come to the end of our calendar year as a church, we are falling short of some of our financial targets and we want to finish strong.

Sakiko and I will give a gift above and beyond our regular tithing. If you are able to do so, would you prayerfully consider doing the same? Your giving directly supports God’s work through our community.  You can give online here. (If you are unable to do so and are yourself facing financial hardship or some other challenge, please reach out to me or one of our pastors and we may be able to provide some support.)

As we celebrate the arrival of the greatest gift ever given during Advent, thank you for seeking Christ and celebrating his birth through a life of faithfulness.

With love and gratitude,

Ken Shigematsu
