The mission of Oasis Café is to be a place of welcome, mutual spiritual formation, holistic care, and discipleship.
Loneliness and social isolation is an experience many of us face at some point in our lives. It is a common thread that bridges us, regardless of our background. At the core, Oasis Café is intended to be a haven for people to find refreshment and renewal.
Oasis first opened its doors in the fall of 1999. The Café is our attempt to live out the vision of biblical hospitality as shown in Scripture. Showing welcome to the outsider is an essential component of the Christian faith (Deuteronomy 10:18-19, Matthew 25:34-40, and Hebrews 13:2) and we strive to follow Jesus’ example of missional living and hospitality by loving our neighbour through building friendships with people of mixed incomes and backgrounds.
We pursue this through a community meal that welcomes all, which also provides work experience to those with barriers to employment. The café is open:
Join us in the Lower East Hall at our Mt. Pleasant site. Come dine with us over a fresh, home-cooked meal, and share conversations at the table.
