Our Rhythms workshops explore the outward movement of the church into the world. We hope to establish new rhythms in our lives that help us to go on mission with God to our neighbours, colleagues, families, classmates, and even to the ends of the world. We invite you to come along for the journey.

The Way the Kingdom Comes: Witness, Whereabouts, and Work

Most people think that the kingdom of God--God's active life-giving rule in people and the world--only comes through church-related work and ministry. But the fact is that God has placed each one of us in a situation, often our workplace, where we can do three things:
(1) witness, when there is occasion to do so
(2) influence others
(3) work with God in bringing human flourishing through the work we do.
You are not a bundle of accidents. God has providentially placed you where you can become a sign, a servant, and a sacrament for the kingdom of God.

Speaker: Paul Stevens
R. Paul Stevens is the President of Institute for Marketplace Transformation, professor emeritus of Marketplace Theology at Regent College and author of several books including Doing God's Business. He is married to Gail, has three married children, eight grandchildren and two great-grandsons. Paul loves to canoe in northern BC and is an active member of West Point Grey Baptist Church.
