New Testament Overview (10 weeks)

Jan 19 - Mar 23 | Tuesdays  7-9 pm.

For many, the Bible comes across as an important but sometimes complicated text. We know it is important and we know we should be reading it but are often not sure what it is trying to say. This course helps participants develop biblical literacy and a better understanding of God’s story in the Bible, by learning to read the New Testament.

This course is an introduction to the overall narrative arc of the New Testament, its themes, and how it shapes our life with God—and for others. Topics discussed will include: the person and work of Jesus, the person and work of the Holy Spirit, the identity and mission of the Church, and the ongoing reign (i.e. “kingdom”) of God.

This course runs on Tuesdays, January 19 – March 23, 2021 and will be online via Zoom. Participants will be sent the Zoom link before the course begins. There is no required textbook in this course as our reading will be from the New Testament. However, How to Read the Bible for All Its Worth and/or How to Read the Bible Book by Book are recommended texts. Both are available online for purchase.
