Advent Prayer: Welcoming God-With-Us
Two Online Prayer Evenings to Prepare Your Heart
Please join us for one or both of these prayer evenings to ready our hearts for the arrival of Jesus. Each will feature a short reflection to focus our hearts and then rich guided opportunities for silent prayer and sharing afterwards. These evenings are for everyday followers of Jesus looking for an oasis of calm and spiritual connection in a season of busyness and distraction.
Thursday, November 25, 7pm - 8:30pm
Welcoming the Light of the World
Christmas is the season of bringing a candlelight of hope into the shortest, darkest days of the year. Jesus is that Light of the World, drawing near to be with us in corners of our heart where we might feel defeated or abandoned. He is both ultimately powerful and intimately personal. By reconnecting with Him, we can be centered and whole. Our time together will focus on receiving and reflecting this light into the world.
Thursday, December 9, 7pm - 8:30pm
Welcoming the Prince of Peace
Advent is the season of facing the brokenness of this world with hope. We live in dark and divisive times ... and our hearts can easily be overwhelmed with anxiety and discouragement. Into this struggle comes Jesus, the One Who reassures us that we are seen, known, loved, and provided for. While the world might continue to shake, we can confidently find our rest in Him. Our time together will center on hearing the Spirit whisper words of divine peace to our hearts.
These evenings will be facilitated by Mark Anderson and Jeff Hawker. Mark is a local Spiritual Director, and is well-known at Tenth as a steady, warm, and down-to-earth companion for believers longing to experience God more deeply. He is a contemplative with a bias for action and making a difference in the world. Jeff is the Associate Pastor for Tenth Evening and contributor spiritual formation for all of Tenth, as well as a husband, father, songwriter, and worship leader.
